Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
RbsK, or ribose kinase, is an enzyme that plays a crucial role in the metabolism of ribose, a sugar that is essential for the synthesis of nucleotides and nucleic acids. The study of RbsK is pivotal in understanding various biological processes, including energy metabolism, cellular signaling, and the regulation of gene expression. As a member of the ribokinase family, RbsK catalyzes the phosphorylation of ribose to ribose-5-phosphate, linking carbohydrate metabolism to nucleotide biosynthesis. Recent research has focused on the structural characterization and functional analysis of RbsK, as understanding its mechanism of action can provide insights into its role in health and disease. For instance, aberrations in ribose metabolism can impact nucleotide levels, potentially leading to conditions such as cancer, metabolic disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases. The expression and purification of recombinant RbsK allow for in-depth biochemical studies, providing a platform for drug discovery and the development of therapeutic strategies targeting nucleotide metabolism. By elucidating the biochemical properties and regulatory mechanisms of RbsK, researchers aim to uncover potential targets for intervention in various pathological states, making it an essential focus of metabolic research. Through the comprehensive investigation of RbsK, scientists hope to contribute to the broader understanding of cellular metabolism and its implications for human health.
