  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PRPF8 is a vital protein involved in the splicing of pre-mRNA, playing a crucial role in the formation and function of the spliceosome, the complex responsible for removing introns from precursor messenger RNA (mRNA). As an integral component of the spliceosomal machinery, PRPF8 helps facilitate the precise and efficient processing of RNA, which is essential for gene expression and cellular function. Mutations or dysregulation of PRPF8 have been linked to various diseases, including neurodegenerative disorders and certain types of cancer, underscoring its importance in maintaining cellular homeostasis. The recombinant production of PRPF8 has become a focal point of research, enabling scientists to investigate its biochemical properties, structural characteristics, and interactions with other spliceosomal components. This research can provide insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying splicing, potentially leading to novel therapeutic strategies for diseases related to splicing defects. Understanding PRPF8's function and regulation may also shed light on the broader implications of RNA processing in health and disease, making it a significant target for both basic and applied biological research.
