  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PRPF31 (pre-mRNA processing factor 31) is a crucial component of the spliceosomal machinery, involved in the complex process of pre-mRNA splicing, which is essential for the maturation of messenger RNA in eukaryotic cells. Mutations in the PRPF31 gene have been linked to several hereditary diseases, most notably retinitis pigmentosa, a degenerative eye disease that leads to vision loss. Understanding the function and mechanism of PRPF31 is critical not only for elucidating the pathophysiology of these diseases but also for developing potential therapeutic strategies. The reconstitution of PRPF31 as a recombinant protein allows researchers to study its biochemical properties and interaction with other splicing factors, providing insights into its role in spliceosome assembly and function. This approach can help identify specific molecular pathways affected by PRPF31 mutations and may guide the development of targeted gene therapies or other intervention strategies. Furthermore, examining the structure and dynamics of PRPF31 in vitro can enhance our understanding of the splicing process as a whole, paving the way for innovative treatments for splicing-related disorders. Overall, the study of PRPF31 recombinant protein serves as a significant stepping stone towards unraveling the complexities of RNA processing and its implications in human disease.
