Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
BCAN, or Bcan, is a gene that encodes the brain-specific extracellular matrix protein brevican, which is part of the aggrecan family and plays a crucial role in neuronal development and function. Research into BCAN protein has gained prominence due to its involvement in various neurological conditions, including brain tumors, neurodegenerative diseases, and traumatic brain injuries. Brevican is known to influence cell adhesion, synaptic plasticity, and the extracellular matrix's structural integrity, making it vital for maintaining the brain’s architecture. Studies have shown that aberrant expression of BCAN can contribute to tumorigenesis in gliomas and other brain cancers, highlighting its potential as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis. Moreover, the modulation of BCAN levels may impact neuroinflammatory processes and neuronal repair mechanisms, suggesting its therapeutic potential. As researchers delve deeper into the functional roles of BCAN in the central nervous system, understanding its pathways and interactions could pave the way for innovative treatments for neurological disorders and improve our overall comprehension of brain physiology. The ongoing investigations into BCAN also hold promise for developing targeted therapies aimed at reinstating its normal function in pathophysiological contexts.
