Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
SCGN (Secretagogin) is a calcium-binding protein predominantly expressed in neural and endocrine tissues. Research has revealed its pivotal role in regulating cellular calcium homeostasis and neurotransmitter release, which is crucial for various physiological processes, including synaptic transmission and hormone secretion. SCGN's involvement in the pathophysiology of several neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease, has garnered significant interest in the scientific community. Its expression correlates with neuronal health and survival, suggesting that alterations in SCGN levels may influence neuronal function and viability. Additionally, SCGN has been implicated in modulating insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells, further highlighting its importance in endocrine regulation. Due to its intricate role in both the nervous and endocrine systems, researchers are investigating the potential of SCGN as a biomarker for neurodegenerative disorders and metabolic diseases. The recombinant expression of SCGN in various model systems has paved the way for a deeper understanding of its biochemical properties, interactions with other proteins, and potential therapeutic applications. As studies continue to explore the multifaceted functions of SCGN, its promise as a target for novel therapeutic strategies grows, possibly enabling innovative approaches to manage diseases characterized by dysregulated calcium signaling and secretion processes.
