  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MTMR8 (Myotubularin Related Protein 8) is a member of the myotubularin family of lipid phosphatases, which are crucial for phosphoinositide metabolism and cellular signaling. Studies indicate that MTMR8 plays a significant role in various cellular processes, including vesicular trafficking, membrane dynamics, and autophagy. Mutations and dysregulations of MTMR8 have been implicated in several genetic disorders, particularly those affecting muscle tissue, such as myopathies. Research into MTMR8 has been propelled by the need to understand the molecular mechanisms underlying these pathologies, facilitating the development of potential therapeutic strategies. Additionally, since MTMR8 is involved in processes critical for maintaining cellular homeostasis, exploring its functions can provide valuable insights into cancer biology, neurodegenerative diseases, and other conditions characterized by impaired cellular signaling. Consequently, recombinant MTMR8 protein has become a pivotal tool for in vitro studies, enabling researchers to delineate its biochemical properties, interactions with other cellular components, and physiological roles in health and disease. As such, the ongoing research into MTMR8 not only sheds light on fundamental biological processes but also paves the way for novel approaches in targeting related disorders.
