Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Cas12a, a CRISPR-associated protein, has garnered significant attention in molecular biology and biotechnology due to its unique properties and versatile applications. Discovered in the prokaryotic immune system, Cas12a is part of the Type V CRISPR systems and is capable of cleaving double-stranded DNA with high precision. Its distinct features, including a simpler two-component system, ease of guide RNA design, and broader target range compared to other Cas proteins, make it an attractive tool for genome editing, gene regulation, and diagnostic applications. Ongoing research focuses on optimizing its reassembly as a recombinant protein, enhancing its specificity, efficiency, and stability, which are critical for therapeutic applications. Furthermore, investigations into its potential off-target effects and the development of delivery systems are essential for advancing its use in clinical settings. The exploration of Cas12a also includes its application in novel diagnostic platforms, such as CRISPR-based detection for pathogens, thus highlighting its versatility beyond traditional genome editing. As the field continues to evolve, the comprehensive understanding of Cas12a’s biochemistry and functional mechanisms remains pivotal for leveraging its full potential in various domains, including agriculture, medicine, and synthetic biology.
