  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MLC1SA is a recombinant protein derived from the MLC1 gene, which is associated with various cellular functions including ion transport and cell signaling. This protein has attracted significant research interest due to its implications in certain neurodegenerative diseases and its role in maintaining cellular homeostasis. The MLC1 protein is primarily expressed in glial cells of the central nervous system, where it is thought to participate in the regulation of potassium ion transport and the maintenance of the blood-brain barrier. Mutations in the MLC1 gene are linked to diseases such as megalencephalic leukoencephalopathy with subcortical cysts (MLC), characterized by brain swelling and cyst formation. Understanding the structure and function of MLC1SA can provide insights into the pathogenic mechanisms underlying such disorders. Moreover, recombinant forms of MLC1SA are useful for biochemical assays and for developing potential therapeutic strategies aimed at restoring normal MLC1 function. The study of MLC1SA also contributes to the broader understanding of glial cell physiology and the role of ion transporters in neuronal health. Current research focuses on elucidating the protein's three-dimensional structure, its interaction with other cellular components, and the effects of specific mutations on its functionality. This knowledge could pave the way for innovative treatments targeting ion transport dysregulation in related neurological conditions.
