  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PFDN6, or Peptide Folding Domain 6, is a crucial protein involved in the chaperoning of nascent polypeptides, facilitating proper protein folding and assembly. Research on PFDN6 has gained prominence due to its implications in various biological processes and diseases, particularly in neurodegenerative disorders where protein misfolding is a hallmark. The protein forms part of a complex known as the chaperonin-containing TCP1 (CCT) complex, which assists in the folding of cytosolic and organelle proteins. Understanding PFDN6's structure and function is essential for elucidating its role in cellular homeostasis and stress responses. Additionally, aberrations in PFDN6 expression or function may be linked to diseases, prompting investigations into its potential as a therapeutic target. Recent studies utilizing recombinant PFDN6 have aimed to clarify its molecular mechanisms and interactions with client proteins, providing insights into its essential role within the cellular proteostasis network. Given the increasing recognition of protein misfolding diseases, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, the study of PFDN6 not only enhances our comprehension of fundamental biological processes but also opens avenues for developing novel therapeutic strategies that may mitigate the effects of these debilitating conditions.
