Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
5-Hydroxyindoleacetic acid (5-HIAA) is a key metabolite of serotonin, playing a significant role in various physiological and pathological processes. The study of 5-HIAA has gained traction due to its implications in psychiatric disorders, such as depression and anxiety, as well as in neuroendocrine tumors, particularly carcinoid tumors, where elevated levels of 5-HIAA in urine can serve as a biomarker for diagnosis. Researching recombinant proteins related to 5-HIAA is crucial for understanding the enzymatic pathways involved in serotonin metabolism, specifically the action of monoamine oxidase and aldehyde dehydrogenase. By producing and characterizing recombinant proteins that influence 5-HIAA production, scientists aim to unravel the complex mechanisms underlying serotonergic regulation. This knowledge could lead to novel therapeutic strategies targeting serotonin-related disorders. Additionally, the development of biosensors utilizing recombinant proteins for 5-HIAA detection represents a promising direction for clinical diagnostics, allowing for more accurate and reliable monitoring of serotonin metabolism in patients. Overall, the exploration of 5-HIAA in the context of recombinant protein research holds potential for advancing both basic science and clinical applications.
