Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MTHFS (methylenetetrahydrofolate synthetase) is an essential enzyme involved in folate metabolism, specifically in the conversion of 5,10-methylenetetrahydrofolate into 5-methyltetrahydrofolate, a crucial step in the synthesis of methionine from homocysteine. Deficiencies or mutations in the MTHFS gene can lead to various health issues, including elevated homocysteine levels, which are associated with cardiovascular diseases, neural tube defects, and other conditions. In the context of understanding metabolic disorders and developing potential therapeutic strategies, the study of recombinant MTHFS proteins has gained significance. By producing MTHFS in a laboratory setting, researchers can explore its biochemical properties, enzymatic activities, and structural characteristics, providing insights into its role in cellular metabolism and its implications in health and disease. Furthermore, recombinant MTHFS can be utilized in assays to test potential inhibitors or activators, which may contribute to the development of drugs targeting folate-related pathways. Consequently, comprehensive research on MTHFS not only enhances our understanding of folate metabolism but also opens avenues for novel therapeutic interventions aimed at mitigating the pathological effects associated with MTHFS deficiencies.
