  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PIK3C2b, a member of the class II phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K) family, plays a critical role in cellular processes such as lipid metabolism, membrane trafficking, and cytoskeletal dynamics. Unlike its class I counterparts, PIK3C2b primarily generates phosphatidylinositol 3-phosphate (PI3P), which is essential for the regulation of endocytosis and the maturation of endosomal compartments. Recent studies have highlighted the involvement of PIK3C2b in various physiological and pathological contexts, including cancer progression, insulin signaling, and neurological disorders. The reconstitution of PIK3C2b as a recombinant protein allows for detailed biochemical characterization and the exploration of its functional mechanisms. This approach aids in understanding the specific interactions of PIK3C2b with other cellular components and its role in signaling pathways. Furthermore, investigating the enzymatic activity and substrate specificity of PIK3C2b could reveal potential therapeutic targets for diseases linked to aberrant PI3K signaling. Overall, research on PIK3C2b is crucial for elucidating its contributions to cellular homeostasis and developing strategies to modulate its activity in disease contexts.
