Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ISG15 (Interferon Stimulated Gene 15) is a ubiquitin-like protein that plays a crucial role in the immune response, particularly during viral infections. It is an interferon-inducible protein, meaning its expression is significantly upregulated in response to interferon signaling, a key mechanism of the innate immune system. The research on ISG15 focuses on its role in the post-translational modification of target proteins through a process known as ISGylation, which is similar to ubiquitination but involves the conjugation of ISG15 instead. This modification has been shown to influence various cellular processes, including antiviral defense, cell signaling, and protein stability. Moreover, ISG15 is secreted by infected cells and can initiate immune responses in neighboring cells, contributing to its significance in host defense. Studies have revealed that ISG15 can modulate the activity of numerous proteins, including those involved in immune signaling pathways, suggesting its potential utility in therapeutic interventions against infections and cancer. The understanding of ISG15's mechanisms and functions may pave the way for novel strategies in antiviral therapies, enhancing our ability to manipulate the immune system for better disease management. Consequently, the recombinant production of ISG15 protein has become a focus of research, enabling the study of its structure and interactions, and potentially leading to the development of ISG15-based therapies in immunology and oncology.
