  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

KCNH2, also known as the human ether-à-go-go-related gene (hERG), encodes a potassium ion channel that plays a critical role in cardiac repolarization, affecting the duration of the action potential in cardiac myocytes. Mutations in the KCNH2 gene are linked to congenital long QT syndrome, a condition that can lead to life-threatening arrhythmias and sudden cardiac death. The study of KCNH2 recombinant protein is vital for understanding the structure and function of this channel, as well as its role in cardiac physiology and pathology. Recombinant expression systems enable researchers to produce large amounts of KCNH2 protein for biophysical and biochemical assays, facilitating the investigation of ion channel dynamics, drug interactions, and the effects of specific mutations. Additionally, studying the KCNH2 channel in vitro allows for the exploration of its pharmacological profile, potentially leading to the development of targeted therapies for patients with KCNH2-related disorders. Given the ion channel's implications in both health and disease, the research surrounding KCNH2 recombinant protein is essential for advancing our understanding of cardiac ion channel function and facilitating the discovery of novel therapeutic strategies.
