  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

KCNH1, a member of the voltage-gated potassium channel family, plays a crucial role in regulating cellular excitability and maintaining the resting membrane potential in various tissues. The study of KCNH1 is particularly significant due to its involvement in human health and disease. Mutations in the KCNH1 gene have been linked to various neurological disorders, including epilepsy and developmental delays, indicating its essential function in neuronal signaling. The recombinant expression of KCNH1 protein allows researchers to investigate its biophysical properties, mechanism of action, and the effects of specific mutations. Additionally, studying recombinant KCNH1 can facilitate the development of targeted therapies for related disorders, as understanding how this channel operates at a molecular level can reveal potential drug targets. Advances in techniques such as electrophysiology, crystallography, and cryo-electron microscopy are enhancing our ability to visualize and characterize the KCNH1 channel, providing insights into its structure-function relationships. Overall, the research on KCNH1 recombinant proteins is vital for elucidating the roles of potassium channels in cellular physiology and developing new therapeutic strategies for channelopathies and other associated conditions.
