Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
COL5A2, a gene encoding for type V collagen, plays a crucial role in the structure and integrity of various connective tissues. Mutations in the COL5A2 gene are associated with diverse connective tissue disorders, including classical Ehlers-Danlos syndrome (cEDS), which is characterized by hypermobility, skin fragility, and joint instability. Understanding the function and structure of COL5A2 is essential for elucidating the pathogenic mechanisms underlying these genetic disorders. The recombinant COL5A2 protein serves as a valuable tool in biomedical research, allowing scientists to investigate its biochemical properties, interactions with other extracellular matrix components, and its role in tissue development and repair. Additionally, exploring the recombinant form of COL5A2 may aid in discovering potential therapeutic strategies for collagen-related diseases. This research could pave the way for the development of novel treatments, improving patient outcomes for those affected by conditions linked to COL5A2 mutations. As such, the study of recombinant COL5A2 protein encompasses a significant intersection of molecular biology, genetics, and therapeutic development, highlighting its importance in both basic and applied research.
