  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

IFT81 is a crucial protein involved in the intraflagellar transport (IFT) process, which is essential for the assembly and maintenance of cilia and flagella in eukaryotic cells. Cilia and flagella play critical roles in various biological functions, including cellular signaling, motility, and sensory perception. Abnormalities in IFT proteins, including IFT81, have been linked to a range of ciliopathies—genetic disorders that stem from dysfunctions in ciliary structure and function. These conditions can lead to severe health issues affecting organs such as the kidneys, lungs, and brain. The study of IFT81 has garnered attention due to its potential implications in understanding ciliopathies, as well as its role in fundamental cellular processes. Recent research has focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms by which IFT81 interacts with other IFT proteins and cargo to facilitate the transport of materials to and from the ciliary axoneme. By understanding the structure and function of IFT81, researchers aim to uncover novel therapeutic targets for ciliopathy-related diseases and enhance our knowledge of ciliary biology. Investigating the role of IFT81 in cilia formation and maintenance not only provides insights into fundamental cellular activities but also holds promise for future biomedical applications in treating disorders associated with ciliary dysfunctions.
