Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
PTCH2, or Patched 2, is a member of the patched family of proteins that play a critical role in the Hedgehog signaling pathway, which is crucial for cellular growth, differentiation, and tissue patterning during embryonic development. Dysregulation of this pathway is linked to various cancers and genetic disorders, making PTCH2 a significant target for biomedical research. Unlike its counterpart PTCH1, PTCH2's specific functions and mechanisms remain less well understood, although it is believed to modulate Hedgehog signaling and may play a role in cell proliferation and survival. The study of PTCH2, especially through the development of recombinant proteins, enables researchers to explore its structure-function relationships, interaction with Hedgehog ligands, and potential implications in tumorigenesis. Recombinant PTCH2 proteins can be utilized in various in vitro assays to dissect these mechanisms and evaluate their biological significance. Additionally, understanding PTCH2’s role could lead to novel therapeutic strategies aimed at diseases where Hedgehog signaling is aberrant, thus illuminating its potential as a biomarker or therapeutic target in oncology and developmental biology.
