  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MGEA5, or the multiple sclerosis-associated gene 5, is a protein implicated in various biological processes, particularly in the immune response and cellular signaling. Research into MGEA5 has gained momentum due to its potential association with autoimmune diseases, especially multiple sclerosis, where aberrant immune responses lead to neural damage. Structurally, MGEA5 belongs to the family of methyl-lysine binding proteins, which play critical roles in epigenetic regulation, influencing gene expression and protein function. The exploration of MGEA5 as a recombinant protein has opened avenues for understanding its functional mechanisms and interactions within the cell. By producing MGEA5 in a recombinant form, researchers aim to investigate its biochemical properties, including its binding affinity and the impact of post-translational modifications. This research may elucidate the role of MGEA5 in disease pathogenesis and could contribute to the development of targeted therapeutic strategies. Investigating MGEA5 not only provides insights into its direct physiological roles but also offers a broader understanding of the molecular pathways involved in autoimmune disorders, potentially paving the way for novel interventions in treating such conditions.
