Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Defensins are a family of small, cationic antimicrobial peptides that play a crucial role in the innate immune response of various organisms, including humans. These peptides are primarily produced by epithelial cells and immune cells, where they act as the first line of defense against a wide range of pathogens, including bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Research on defensins has gained significant momentum in recent years due to their diverse biological functions beyond antimicrobial activity, including roles in inflammation, wound healing, and modulation of immune responses. The structural characteristics of defensins, which typically include a conserved cysteine motif that forms disulfide bonds, contribute to their stability and functionality. Studies have also shown that defensins can influence the microbiome, potentially impacting health and disease states. Understanding the mechanisms by which defensins exert their effects could lead to novel therapeutic applications, including the development of new antimicrobial agents and immune-modulating therapies. As antibiotic resistance continues to pose a major global health challenge, defensins have emerged as a promising alternative, paving the way for innovative strategies in infection control and immunotherapy.
