  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

NCAN, or Neurocan, is a member of the chondroitin sulfate proteoglycan family that plays a crucial role in the extracellular matrix of the central nervous system (CNS). Its primary function involves modulating cell adhesion, migration, and signaling, which are vital processes during neural development and repair. Research has indicated that NCAN is involved in various neurological conditions, including brain tumors, Alzheimer's disease, and traumatic brain injuries, as it can influence neuronal plasticity and regeneration. Studying NCAN recombinant proteins provides insight into its structural and functional properties, allowing scientists to explore its interactions with other molecules within the CNS. Furthermore, understanding the mechanisms by which NCAN regulates neuroinflammation and neuronal survival may lead to novel therapeutic strategies for neurodegenerative disorders. As researchers continue to elucidate the role of NCAN in both health and disease, the development of NCAN-based treatments could significantly impact the field of neuroscience, providing new avenues for intervention in CNS injuries and disorders.
