Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
CAP2, or Cathelicidin Antimicrobial Peptide 2, is a significant protein within the cathelicidin family, known for its antimicrobial properties and role in innate immunity. Research on CAP2 has gained traction due to the increasing prevalence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria and the need for novel antimicrobial agents. It is primarily expressed in various cells of the immune system and exhibits a broad spectrum of activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, fungi, and even certain viruses. The regulation of CAP2 expression is influenced by several factors such as inflammatory cytokines, which play a crucial role in its upregulation during infection. Understanding the mechanisms by which CAP2 exerts its antimicrobial effects can provide insights into its potential therapeutic applications, possibly leading to the development of new treatment approaches for infections. Moreover, the study of CAP2's structure-function relationship and its interactions with microbial membranes is critical in elucidating how this peptide can be optimized for enhanced efficacy. Recent advances in genetic engineering and recombinant protein technology have facilitated the production of CAP2, allowing for more detailed studies on its properties and applications. Overall, CAP2 represents a promising candidate in the ongoing quest to combat infections in an era of rising antibiotic resistance, underscoring the importance of continued research into its biological functions and therapeutic potential.
