Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
NirK is a copper-containing nitrite reductase enzyme that plays a critical role in the denitrification process, facilitating the reduction of nitrite (NO2-) to nitric oxide (NO) in the nitrogen cycle. Denitrification is an essential biological process that helps mitigate the accumulation of nitrogen compounds in the environment, thereby preventing issues such as eutrophication and maintaining ecosystem health. Research into NirK and its associated pathways is vital for understanding microbial denitrification processes, especially in the context of climate change and soil management practices. The recombinant expression of NirK in various systems enables detailed studies of its enzymatic mechanisms, structural characteristics, and potential applications in bioremediation and sustainable agriculture. By elucidating the function and dynamics of NirK, scientists aim to enhance our understanding of nitrogen metabolism in microbes, which could lead to innovative strategies for managing nitrogen levels in agricultural soils and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The investigation of NirK not only contributes to fundamental biochemistry but also has practical implications for environmental science and agricultural sustainability.
