Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    PRKAR1A

  • 简介

PRKAR1A protein is a regulatory subunit of cAMP-dependent protein kinase and is critical for cAMP signaling. Upon activation by cAMP, it releases two catalytic monomers and a regulatory dimer from the inactive holoenzyme. PRKAR1A Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived PRKAR1A protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-6*His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PRKAR1A, or Protein Kinase cAMP-Dependent Protein Kinase Regulatory Subunit Type I Alpha, is an essential component of the protein kinase A (PKA) signaling pathway, which plays a critical role in various cellular processes such as metabolism, gene expression, and cell proliferation. Mutations or dysregulation of the PRKAR1A gene are linked to a spectrum of diseases, most notably Carney complex, characterized by multiple neoplasms and endocrine tumors. Research into PRKAR1A recombinant proteins has gained momentum in the context of understanding its structural and functional properties, as well as its interactions within the PKA signaling cascade. By producing and studying PRKAR1A as a recombinant protein, scientists aim to elucidate its regulatory mechanisms, how it interacts with catalytic subunits of PKA, and its role in disease pathology. This approach holds the potential for discovering novel therapeutic targets and strategies for conditions associated with PRKAR1A abnormalities, thereby offering insights into cellular signaling pathways and their implications in oncology and endocrinology. Through structural studies, including crystallography and NMR spectroscopy, researchers can provide a detailed understanding of the protein's conformation and interaction with ligands, contributing to the broader field of signal transduction and targeted therapies.
