简介
Lipocalin-2/NGAL is a multifaceted iron transporter involved in multiple biological processes, including apoptosis, innate immunity, and kidney development. Lipocalin-2 dynamically affects cellular iron concentration through binding to the siderophore 2,3-dihydroxybenzoate. Lipocalin-2/NGAL Protein, Cynomolgus (CHO, His) is the recombinant cynomolgus-derived Lipocalin-2/NGAL protein, expressed by CHO , with C-His labeled tag.

稳定性测试
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
保存条件 & 期限
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

运输条件
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Lipocalin-2, also known as Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL), is a 25-kDa glycoprotein belonging to the lipocalin family. It is primarily expressed in neutrophils and can be secreted by various tissues, including kidneys and epithelial cells, in response to inflammatory stimuli. The protein has garnered significant attention due to its role as a biomarker for acute kidney injury (AKI) and chronic kidney diseases, as it is rapidly upregulated in response to kidney damage. Lipocalin-2 functions by binding to small lipophilic molecules and has been implicated in iron transport and immune regulation. Research indicates that elevated levels of NGAL can be detected in urine and serum, making it a non-invasive tool for early diagnosis of renal injury. Furthermore, studies have suggested that Lipocalin-2 is involved in various pathophysiological processes, including cancer progression and metabolic disorders, which underscores its potential as a therapeutic target. Recombinant Lipocalin-2/NGAL proteins have been produced for further investigation into their biological functions, mechanisms of action, and potential applications in medical diagnostics and therapeutics. Exploring the structure-function relationship of this protein may enhance our understanding of its role in health and disease, paving the way for novel interventions in kidney pathologies and beyond.
