  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MLKL (Mixed Lineage Kinase Domain-Like Protein) is a key effector molecule in the process of necroptosis, a form of programmed cell death that is distinct from apoptosis. The study of MLKL has gained significant attention in recent years due to its crucial role in various physiological and pathological processes, including inflammation, cancer, and neurodegenerative diseases. When activated by receptor-interacting protein kinases (RIPK1 and RIPK3), MLKL undergoes a conformational change and translocates to the plasma membrane, where it disrupts membrane integrity, leading to cell death. Research efforts have focused on understanding the structure-function relationship of MLKL, elucidating its activation mechanisms, and exploring its interactions with other cellular components. This understanding is vital for developing therapeutic strategies targeting necroptosis in diseases where it plays a pathological role. The recombinant expression and purification of MLKL proteins have become crucial tools in these studies, facilitating the investigation of its biochemical properties and interactions in vitro. As a result, advances in MLKL research may lead to novel treatments for conditions associated with dysregulated cell death pathways.
