Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    T-PA

  • 简介

The T-PA protein converts the inactive plasminogen to active plasmin by hydrolyzing a single Arg-Val bond. This conversion regulates plasmin-mediated proteolysis and is involved in tissue remodeling, degradation, and cell migration.T-PA also contributes to the prevention of polyspermy during oocyte activation by participating in the cortical granule reaction.T-PA Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived T-PA protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

Tissue plasminogen activator (T-PA) is a serine protease crucially involved in the fibrinolytic system, playing a vital role in the dissolution of blood clots. Since its discovery in the late 20th century, T-PA has garnered significant attention in medical research due to its therapeutic potential in treating conditions like acute myocardial infarction and ischemic stroke. The ability of T-PA to convert plasminogen to plasmin accelerates the degradation of fibrin, thereby facilitating clot removal. However, the clinical application of T-PA is limited by factors such as its short half-life, the risk of hemorrhagic complications, and the need for precise timing in administration. Consequently, researchers have focused on engineering recombinant forms of T-PA to enhance its efficacy and safety profile. Studies have involved modifications to its structure to improve pharmacokinetics and increase specificity for fibrin-bound plasminogen. Furthermore, elucidating the molecular mechanisms governing T-PA activity and stability has paved the way for novel formulations and delivery systems. As a result, ongoing research aims to expand the therapeutic applications of T-PA beyond acute thrombosis scenarios, exploring its potential in chronic vascular diseases, as well as its role in tissue remodeling and regeneration. Overall, T-PA represents a promising target for innovation in thrombolytic therapy, with the potential to improve outcomes for patients suffering from thromboembolic disorders.
