Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    MTSS1

  • 简介

MTSS1 Protein is a protein down-regulated in MTSS1 in metastatic bladder carcinoma cell lines. MTSS1 is widely expressed but most abundant in spleen, thymus, testis, prostate and peripheral blood, with low levels also detected in uterus and colon. MTSS1 is proposed to function as a metastatic suppressor protein in both bladder and prostate cancers. MTSS1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived MTSS1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-His labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

MTSS1 (Metastasis Suppressor 1) is a member of the IRSp53/Mtss1 protein family, known for its role in cytoskeletal dynamics and actin regulation, playing a crucial part in many cellular processes including migration, adhesion, and differentiation. Research into MTSS1 has gained momentum due to its emerging significance as a metastasis suppressor in various cancers, particularly in breast and colorectal cancers. Decreased expression of MTSS1 has been correlated with aggressive tumor phenotypes and poor patient prognosis, suggesting that it may function as a critical regulatory factor in tumor progression. Furthermore, studies have highlighted its involvement in signal transduction pathways and interactions with other cellular proteins that orchestrate the epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT)—a pivotal step in cancer metastasis. Understanding the molecular mechanisms underlying MTSS1's function could provide insights into potential therapeutic strategies aimed at halting metastasis. There is increasing interest in developing MTSS1-based biomarker panels for early cancer detection and as targets for novel anti-cancer therapies. Overall, the exploration of MTSS1's roles in both normal and pathological conditions is crucial for advancing our understanding of cancer biology and developing more effective interventions.
