简介
The COL4A3 protein is a key type IV collagen component that forms the major structural element of the glomerular basement membrane (GBM). It collaborates with laminin, proteoglycans, and nestin/nesidin to create a "chicken wire" network that is critical for maintaining the structural integrity of the GBM. COL4A3 Protein, Rat (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant rat-derived COL4A3 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with N-hFc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
COL4A3, a member of the collagen IV gene family, encodes a critical component of the extracellular matrix (ECM) and plays a vital role in maintaining the structural integrity of various tissues, particularly in the kidney and the basement membranes of other organs. Mutations in the COL4A3 gene are linked to several diseases, including Alport syndrome, characterized by progressive kidney disease, hearing loss, and ocular abnormalities. Given its essential function in the ECM, recombinant COL4A3 proteins have garnered significant attention in research aimed at understanding collagen-related disorders and exploring potential therapeutic interventions. The ability to produce recombinant COL4A3 enables researchers to study its molecular properties, facilitate the elucidation of disease mechanisms, and pave the way for innovative treatments. Additionally, recombinant COL4A3 can be utilized in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine, as it provides a scaffold for cellular growth and differentiation. Investigating the functional characteristics of COL4A3 and its interactions within the ECM can offer insights into the pathogenesis of related diseases and help in the development of novel biomaterials for clinical applications.
