  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

BNIP3 (Bcl-2/adenovirus E1B 19 kDa interacting protein 3) is a pro-apoptotic member of the BH3-only family of proteins that plays a critical role in regulating cell death and survival, particularly in response to hypoxic conditions. It is known to interact with Bcl-2 and further influence mitochondrial dynamics and autophagy. BNIP3 functions by promoting mitochondrial outer membrane permeabilization, leading to the release of cytochrome c and the activation of caspases, ultimately triggering apoptosis. In addition to its role in apoptosis, BNIP3 has gained attention for its involvement in cellular responses to stress, particularly in cancer biology, where its expression is often altered. Research has shown that BNIP3 can contribute to tumor progression by facilitating adaptation to low oxygen levels, thereby influencing tumor growth and metastasis. Moreover, BNIP3 is implicated in neurodegenerative diseases and ischemic injury, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target. Understanding the structural and functional properties of BNIP3/NIP3 recombinant proteins is crucial for elucidating its mechanisms of action and exploring its utility in clinical applications. The study of BNIP3/NIP3 recombinant proteins aids in drug development and provides insights into targeting apoptosis as a strategy for cancer therapy, making it a significant focus in molecular biology and therapeutic research.
