简介
Carbonic Anhydrase 14 Protein catalyzes the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide, converting it to bicarbonate ions and protons, and vice versa. Its vital enzymatic activity contributes to physiological processes, regulating acid-base balance, respiration, and cellular pH homeostasis. The protein plays a pivotal role in carbon dioxide transport and metabolism in the body. Carbonic Anhydrase 14 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived Carbonic Anhydrase 14 protein, expressed by HEK293 , with C-His labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Carbonic Anhydrase 14 (CA14) is a member of the carbonic anhydrase family of enzymes, which catalyze the reversible hydration of carbon dioxide to bicarbonate and protons, playing a crucial role in various physiological processes, including respiration, acid-base balance, and electrolyte transport. Unlike other carbonic anhydrases, CA14 is primarily expressed in the brain and the gastrointestinal tract, suggesting distinct functions in these tissues. Research has shown that CA14 may be involved in neuroprotection, synaptic function, and the regulation of ion transport in neurons. Its unique expression pattern and potential physiological roles have drawn interest in understanding its structure-function relationship. Recombinant CA14 protein is pivotal for studying the enzyme's catalytic mechanisms, inhibitor binding, and its role in various diseases, including neurological disorders. By producing CA14 as a recombinant protein, researchers can investigate its enzymatic properties, assess its interactions with potential drug compounds, and explore its therapeutic prospects. Additionally, the study of CA14 can contribute to our understanding of not only carbonate chemistry in biological systems but also its implications in pathophysiological conditions, thereby expanding the scope of carbonic anhydrases in biomedical research.
