简介
Carboxypeptidase A2/CPA2 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is an approximately 50.0 kDa human carboxypeptidase A2 with a His-flag. Carboxypeptidase A2 is a secreted pancreatic procarboxy -peptidase, and cleaves the C-terminal amide or ester bond of peptides.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Carboxypeptidase A2 (CPA2) is a zinc-dependent exopeptidase that plays a crucial role in the digestion of dietary proteins by catalyzing the cleavage of C-terminal amino acids from peptides, thus contributing to the overall protein metabolism in the digestive system. Its significance extends beyond digestion; CPA2 is involved in various physiological processes and has been implicated in certain pathological conditions, including cancer and pancreatitis. Due to its enzymatic activity, CPA2 has garnered interest in biotechnological applications, such as in food processing, pharmaceuticals, and therapeutic enzyme replacement therapies. The study of recombinant CPA2 is particularly valuable, as it allows for the production of this enzyme in a controlled environment, optimizing yield and activity while also enabling the investigation of its structure-function relationships. Advances in recombinant DNA technology facilitate the expression of CPA2 in host systems, providing sufficient quantities for functional studies, structural analysis, and potential drug development. Understanding the mechanisms and properties of recombinant CPA2 not only enhances knowledge in enzymology but also paves the way for innovative applications in medicine and industry, making it an important target for ongoing research.
