SARS-CoV-2 NCP N

简介
The SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein plays a crucial role in assembling the virion, forming the helical ribonucleocapsid (RNP), and interacting with the viral genome and membrane protein M. In addition to its structural function, it also enhances subgenomic viral RNA transcription and overall replication. NCP N Protein, SARS-CoV-2 (N48-A173) is the recombinant virus-derived NCP N, expressed by E. coli, with tag-free.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
The study of the SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein (N protein or NCP) is critical for understanding the biology of the virus and its interaction with host cells. The N protein plays a pivotal role in the viral life cycle, specifically in RNA packaging and viral assembly, which are essential for the virus's infectivity and replication. Given its abundance in infected cells and its role in immune response modulation, the NCP has emerged as a target for diagnostic assays, vaccine development, and therapeutic strategies. Furthermore, research into recombinant forms of the N protein has facilitated the exploration of its structural properties and interactions with other viral components and host factors. This exploration has implications for the development of more effective vaccines and therapeutics, as well as diagnostic tools that can accurately detect SARS-CoV-2 infection. Current studies are focused on characterizing the protein’s antigenic properties to enhance vaccine efficacy and improve the specificity of serological assays. Understanding the N protein’s functions and its elicitation of immune responses is essential for further progress in combating COVID-19, as it could provide insights into potential vulnerabilities of the virus and guide the design of next-generation vaccines that not only target the spike protein but also encompass other viral components like the nucleocapsid. This multifaceted research approach aims to leverage the N protein's characteristics to improve public health responses to the ongoing pandemic and future viral outbreaks.
