  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

GABRA5 and GABRB3 are critical subunits of the GABA(A) receptor, a major inhibitory neurotransmitter receptor in the central nervous system. GABA(A) receptors are pentameric structures composed of various combinations of alpha, beta, and gamma subunits, which determine their pharmacological properties, localization, and function. The GABRA5-GABRB3 heteromeric combination has garnered particular interest due to its role in modulating synaptic transmission and its implication in neurological conditions such as anxiety, epilepsy, and schizophrenia. Research has shown that mutations or variations in these subunits can significantly affect receptor functionality and, consequently, neural circuit activity. The study of GABRA5-GABRB3 recombinant proteins allows scientists to investigate the specific biochemical properties, ligand-binding profiles, and pharmacological responses of this receptor complex. Understanding how these subunits interact, both with each other and with various ligands, can provide insights into the mechanisms underlying receptor modulation and pave the way for the development of new therapeutic strategies targeting GABA(A) receptor dysfunction. Advances in recombinant protein technology have enabled the production and characterization of GABRA5-GABRB3 complexes, facilitating the exploration of their role in neuropharmacology and enhancing our understanding of their contributions to psychiatric and neurological disorders.
