简介
The KRT8 protein, in cooperation with KRT19, critically links the contractile apparatus of the striated rib muscle to dystrophin. This heterotetramer consists of two type I keratins and two type II keratins, forming a heterodimer with KRT18. KRT8 Protein, Human (sf9, His-Myc) is the recombinant human-derived KRT8 protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells , with N-10*His, C-Myc labeled tag.

Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Keratin 8 (KRT8) is a type of intermediate filament protein that plays a crucial role in maintaining the structural integrity and mechanical properties of epithelial cells. As a member of the keratin family, KRT8 is primarily expressed in simple epithelia and is often co-expressed with Keratin 18 (KRT18), reflecting its importance in both normal physiology and disease states. Research has increasingly focused on KRT8 due to its potential involvement in various pathological conditions, including liver diseases, certain cancers, and degenerative disorders. The study of recombinant KRT8 protein provides valuable insights into its functional properties and interactions at the molecular level. By utilizing recombinant DNA technology, researchers can produce KRT8 in significant quantities, allowing for extensive in vitro studies to elucidate its role in cellular processes, such as cell differentiation, apoptosis, and response to stress. Furthermore, the pathological implications of KRT8, particularly its aberrant expression patterns observed in tumors, highlight the protein's potential as a biomarker for diagnosis and prognosis in cancer contexts. Overall, KRT8 recombinant protein research enhances our understanding of epithelial biology and opens avenues for novel therapeutic strategies targeting keratin-associated diseases.
