Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    BCCIP

  • 简介

BCCIP proteins contribute to interphase microtubule organization and anchoring as well as spindle pole organization and stability during mitosis. BCCIP protein may induce cell cycle arrest by enhancing CDK2 inhibition and participate in DNA damage repair through homologous recombination with BRCA2. BCCIP Protein, Human (sf9) is the recombinant human-derived BCCIP protein, expressed by Sf9 insect cells, with tag free.

Site-directed mutagenesis Custom tag design Custom buffer formulation Custom full-length protein production

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

BCCIP (BRCA2 and CDKN1A (p21) Interacting Protein) is a critical protein that plays a significant role in cellular processes such as DNA damage repair, cell cycle regulation, and the maintenance of genomic stability. Research on BCCIP has gained attention due to its involvement in the tumorigenesis and progression of various cancers, particularly those associated with BRCA gene mutations. This protein is known to interact with BRCA2 and p21, highlighting its dual functionality in both DNA repair mechanisms and cell proliferation control. Abnormal levels of BCCIP have been implicated in the pathogenesis of cancers, suggesting that it may serve as a potential biomarker for cancer diagnosis and a target for therapeutic intervention. Recent studies have focused on elucidating the molecular mechanisms by which BCCIP contributes to DNA repair pathways, particularly the homologous recombination (HR) process crucial for fixing double-strand breaks. Understanding the dynamics of BCCIP, its interactions, and its regulatory roles in these biological processes can provide significant insights into the development of targeted therapies aimed at enhancing the efficacy of existing cancer treatments and overcoming resistance mechanisms. As a result, BCCIP continues to be an important focus in cancer research, with ongoing investigations exploring its potential utility in personalized medicine and its role in cancer susceptibility and treatment outcomes.
