Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
Pentraxin 2 (PTX2), also known as Serum Amyloid P component (SAP), is a member of the pentraxin family of proteins that play crucial roles in the immune response and inflammation. Research has revealed that PTX2/SAP serves as an acute-phase protein, produced predominantly by the liver in response to inflammatory stimuli, and is implicated in various pathological conditions, including amyloidosis, cardiovascular diseases, and infections. Its ability to bind to apoptotic cells and pathogenic microorganisms highlights its potential in modulating immune responses and promoting clearance. Additionally, PTX2/SAP exhibits anti-inflammatory properties, making it a promising candidate for therapeutic applications. The recombinant expression of PTX2/SAP allows for the detailed study of its structure-function relationships and the development of potential diagnostic and therapeutic tools. By generating and characterizing recombinant PTX2/SAP, researchers aim to elucidate its biological mechanisms and explore its utility in treating diseases characterized by inflammation and immune dysregulation. Such advancements could pave the way for novel strategies in managing conditions related to acute and chronic inflammation.
