Analytical Data

  • Gene name

    HJURP

  • 简介

The HJURP protein is a centromeric factor that plays a critical role in centromeric integration and maintenance of CENPA. As a chaperone, it ensures the integration of newly synthesized CENPA into nucleosomes at replicating centromeres. HJURP Protein, Human (His-SUMO) is the recombinant human-derived HJURP protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His, N-SUMO labeled tag.

  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

HJURP (Holliday Junction Recognition Protein) is a vital player in the maintenance of genomic stability and the proper assembly of the centromere, a critical region for accurate chromosome segregation during cell division. Research on HJURP has gained momentum due to its role in the incorporation of the histone variant CENP-A into centromeric chromatin, which is essential for the formation and functionality of the centromere. Disruptions in HJURP function have been linked to numerous diseases, including cancer, where centromere misregulation can lead to chromosomal instability and aneuploidy. Studies have demonstrated that HJURP interacts with various molecular partners and is regulated by post-translational modifications, which further underline its complexity and significance in cell biology. The understanding of HJURP's mechanism of action and its regulation remains an active area of investigation, as elucidating these pathways could provide insights into potential therapeutic targets for diseases associated with chromosomal abnormalities. Additionally, the exploration of HJURP's role in other cellular processes and its evolutionary conservation across species underscores its fundamental importance in cellular function and stability.
