  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CD4 is a crucial glycoprotein found on the surface of T-helper cells, playing a significant role in the immune response by acting as a co-receptor for the T-cell receptor (TCR). Research into CD4 recombinant proteins has gained momentum due to their potential applications in immunology and therapeutic development. Initially identified as a key player in HIV infection—since the virus uses CD4 as a primary entry point into host cells—scientists have been prompted to explore CD4's structure and function in greater detail. Recombinant CD4 proteins are produced using genetic engineering techniques, which allow for the generation of large quantities and the ability to modify them for various experimental and clinical purposes. These proteins are pivotal in studying T-cell activation, signaling pathways, and developing vaccines or therapeutic strategies against diseases like HIV, autoimmune disorders, and even cancer. Additionally, they serve as valuable tools for creating CD4-based decoy receptors, potentially offering new avenues for blocking HIV entry and enhancing immune responses. As such, the exploration of CD4 recombinant proteins continues to be an active and promising area of research, with implications for understanding immune mechanisms and developing novel medical interventions.
