  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

GBGT1, or UDP-glucose:glycoprotein glucosyltransferase 1, is a key enzyme involved in the post-translational modification of glycoproteins through the addition of glucose moieties. This modification is crucial for protein folding, stability, and cellular recognition processes. Research into GBGT1 is significant because of its role in various biological systems and potential implications in diseases, including cancer and congenital disorders affecting glycosylation. Understanding the structure and function of GBGT1 can provide insights into glycoprotein biosynthesis and its regulation. Moreover, the investigation of GBGT1 may also illuminate the mechanisms through which aberrations in glycosylation contribute to pathological conditions. Advances in recombinant protein technology have enabled the production of functional GBGT1, facilitating detailed studies of its enzymatic activity, substrate specificity, and the structural basis for its function. This research holds promise for developing targeted therapies that could modulate GBGT1 activity, offering new avenues for therapeutic intervention in diseases linked to glycosylation defects. As a result, GBGT1 has garnered attention in both fundamental research and potential clinical applications, making it a focal point for ongoing studies in biochemistry and molecular biology.
