Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
EIF2B5, a critical component of the eukaryotic translation initiation complex, plays a significant role in regulating protein synthesis by facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP on the eukaryotic initiation factor 2 (eIF2). Mutations in the EIF2B5 gene are associated with a group of neurological disorders known as eIF2B-related disorders, which include vanishing white matter disease. This condition is characterized by demyelination of the central nervous system, leading to neurological impairment. Understanding the structure and function of the recombinant EIF2B5 protein is crucial for elucidating the molecular mechanisms underlying these diseases. Through the production and characterization of recombinant EIF2B5, researchers aim to investigate its biochemical properties, interaction with eIF2, and the impact of disease-related mutations. The study of recombinant EIF2B5 not only enhances our knowledge of translation regulation but also holds potential for developing targeted therapeutic strategies to treat eIF2B-related disorders. Insights gained from this research can pave the way for identifying biomarkers and designing small molecules that may restore normal EIF2B function, thereby offering hope for affected individuals.
