Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
MCAM (Melanoma Cell Adhesion Molecule), also known as CD146, is a glycoprotein expressed on the surface of various cell types, including endothelial cells, immune cells, and certain tumor cells. It plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, migration, and signal transduction, influencing processes such as angiogenesis, inflammation, and metastasis. Research into MCAM has gained prominence due to its involvement in cancer biology, particularly in melanoma and other aggressive tumors where its overexpression is often correlated with poor prognosis and increased metastatic potential. Furthermore, MCAM has been identified as a key player in the tumor microenvironment, facilitating the interaction between tumor cells and surrounding stroma, which enhances tumor growth and dissemination. The study of MCAM also extends to its potential as a therapeutic target; strategies involving the modulation of its expression or function may provide novel avenues for cancer treatment. Additionally, MCAM's role in immune modulation suggests that it could be explored for enhancing anti-tumor immunity or for use in immunotherapy. Given its multifaceted roles in both normal physiology and pathological conditions, ongoing research aims to elucidate the molecular mechanisms underlying MCAM function and to develop targeted therapies that could significantly improve outcomes for patients with metastatic cancers.
