  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

CNGA3 (cyclic nucleotide phosphodiesterase-3A) is a crucial component of the phototransduction cascade in retinal photoreceptor cells, particularly in cone cells responsible for color vision. Mutations in the CNGA3 gene are known to cause achromatopsia, a genetic condition marked by a lack of color vision and heightened sensitivity to light. The study of recombinant CNGA3 protein is essential for understanding its structure and function, as well as the molecular mechanisms underlying vision. Researchers focus on expressing the CNGA3 protein in heterologous systems, such as bacterial or mammalian cells, to obtain sufficient quantities for functional assays and structural analysis. By characterizing the properties of this protein, including its ion channel activity and interaction with cyclic nucleotides, scientists aim to gain insights into how defects in CNGA3 contribute to visual impairment. Additionally, understanding the pharmacological potential and possible therapeutic targets related to CNGA3 can pave the way for developing innovative treatments for achromatopsia and other retinal disorders. Overall, CNGA3 recombinant protein research plays a vital role in bridging the gap between genetic mutations and their phenotypic expressions in vision-related conditions, ultimately contributing to advancements in gene therapy and retinal regenerative medicine.
