Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
CGI-51, also known as PIGF (phosphatidylinositol glycan anchor biosynthesis class F), is a protein that has gained attention in biomedical research due to its potential roles in cell signaling and development. Initially identified as a component of the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor biosynthesis pathway, which is crucial for the proper localization and function of many membrane proteins, CGI-51 is involved in the synthesis of GPI anchors that post-translationally modify proteins, facilitating their attachment to the cell membrane. Dysregulation of GPI-anchor biosynthesis, including the activity of CGI-51, has been implicated in various diseases, particularly in cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Recent studies have focused on elucidating the structural and functional properties of CGI-51 and its interactions with other proteins and cellular pathways. Research involving recombinant CGI-51 protein aims to better understand its biological roles and its potential as a therapeutic target. By generating and characterizing CGI-51 as a recombinant protein, scientists hope to explore its enzymatic activity and role in GPI-anchor synthesis in greater detail, which may lead to novel strategies for disease intervention and treatment. The ongoing investigation into CGI-51 highlights the importance of understanding post-translational modifications and their impact on cellular functions and pathology.
