  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

The vvhA gene, derived from the bacterium Vibrio vulnificus, encodes for a virulence factor known as a metalloprotease, which plays a crucial role in the pathogenesis of infections caused by this organism. Vibrio vulnificus is an opportunistic pathogen often associated with seafood consumption, particularly raw oysters, and can lead to severe gastroenteritis or wound infections in susceptible individuals, such as those with pre-existing health conditions. The vvhA protein has garnered significant interest within the scientific community due to its potential mechanisms of action, including the degradation of host tissue barriers and modulation of immune responses. Research on the recombinant form of vvhA protein has focused on understanding its biochemical properties, structural characteristics, and interactions with host cells. Studies have shown that this protease can facilitate bacterial invasion and survival within the host, highlighting its role in the virulence of Vibrio vulnificus. Furthermore, the recombinant vvhA protein is being explored for its potential applications in vaccine development, diagnostics, and therapeutics, as it may provide insights into the immune response during Vibrio infections. This line of research is not only crucial for developing strategies to combat Vibrio vulnificus infections but also enhances our understanding of bacterial pathogenesis and host-pathogen interactions. Consequently, the investigation of vvhA recombinant protein serves as a pivotal component in advancing knowledge in microbiology, infectious diseases, and public health.
