Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
AKR1A1, or Aldo-keto reductase family 1 member A1, is an important enzyme involved in the metabolism of various endogenous and exogenous compounds, including steroids, drugs, and xenobiotics. Its role in catalyzing the reduction of aldehydes and ketones makes it crucial for detoxifying reactive carbonyl species, which are often implicated in oxidative stress and various diseases, including cancer and diabetes. Research has demonstrated that dysregulation of AKR1A1 expression and activity can lead to pathological consequences, highlighting its potential as a therapeutic target. Furthermore, the enzyme's involvement in drug metabolism underscores its significance in pharmacology and personalized medicine. Given these factors, the production and characterization of recombinant AKR1A1 proteins have become increasingly important for elucidating its functional mechanisms, understanding its structure-activity relationships, and exploring its potential in therapeutic applications. Advances in recombinant DNA technology allow for the efficient expression and purification of AKR1A1, facilitating detailed studies on its substrate specificity, enzymatic kinetics, and interaction with other biomolecules. By investigating these aspects, researchers aim to gain deeper insights into the physiological roles of AKR1A1 and its implications in disease processes, ultimately contributing to the development of novel therapeutic strategies and improving drug design.
