  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PLA2G4B, also known as cytosolic phospholipase A2 group IV B, is an essential enzyme involved in the hydrolysis of phospholipids, leading to the release of fatty acids and lysophospholipids, which are critical signaling molecules in various physiological and pathological processes. Research on PLA2G4B has gained attention due to its potential roles in inflammatory responses, cancer biology, and neurological disorders. Elevated levels of PLA2G4B have been associated with increased inflammation and tumor progression, making it a promising target for therapeutic intervention. Additionally, the enzyme's activity is regulated by calcium ions and various post-translational modifications, which are key areas of investigation to understand its functional implications. Recombinant PLA2G4B protein production facilitates detailed studies on its enzymatic characteristics, substrate specificity, and interaction with other biomolecules, offering insights into its biological functions and potential applications in drug development. Given the rising interest in metabolomics and lipid signaling pathways, understanding the mechanisms regulating PLA2G4B activity could lead to novel therapeutic strategies for diseases associated with dysregulated phospholipid metabolism.
