  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

PICK1 (Protein interacting with C-kinase 1) is an intriguing target in molecular biology due to its role in various cellular processes, including synaptic transmission and the regulation of membrane trafficking. Originally identified as a protein that interacts with protein kinase C (PKC), PICK1's functions extend to the modulation of receptor endocytosis, particularly for AMPA receptors, which are crucial for synaptic plasticity and cognitive functions. Research into PICK1 has gained momentum due to its implications in neurological disorders such as schizophrenia and Alzheimer’s disease, where alterations in synaptic functioning are central. Moreover, PICK1 is involved in the pathophysiology of several cancers, making it a potential therapeutic target. Studies have shown that PICK1's multidomain structure allows it to interact with different signaling molecules and cytoskeletal components, highlighting its versatility in cellular signaling pathways. The development of recombinant PICK1 proteins for structural and functional analyses is essential for elucidating its mechanisms of action and its role in health and disease. By generating specific recombinant forms of PICK1, researchers aim to investigate its interactions, post-translational modifications, and the resultant effects on neuronal and non-neuronal cell signaling. This research not only paves the way for understanding fundamental biological processes but also opens new avenues for drug discovery aimed at modulating PICK1 activity in pathological conditions. Overall, PICK1 represents a critical junction between protein signaling, synaptic modulation, and disease, making its study a promising area of exploration in contemporary biomedical research.
