  • Stability Test

The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.

  • Storage & Shelf Life

Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

  • Shipping

In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description

COL11A2, a member of the collagen family, plays a crucial role in the structural integrity of the extracellular matrix (ECM), particularly in cartilage and other connective tissues. Its expression is predominantly observed during embryonic development and in specific adult tissues, suggesting its involvement in tissue formation and repair. Recent studies have indicated that COL11A2 is implicated in various musculoskeletal disorders, including osteoarthritis and chondrodysplasias, where abnormalities in collagen synthesis and assembly are prevalent. Because of its significant role in maintaining cartilage structure and function, COL11A2 has attracted attention as a potential biomarker and therapeutic target for these conditions. The production of recombinant COL11A2 proteins enables researchers to investigate its biochemical properties, interactions with other ECM components, and functional implications in disease models. By studying COL11A2 through recombinant DNA technology, scientists aim to elucidate its role in the pathophysiology of musculoskeletal diseases and explore novel therapeutic strategies that might involve modulation of its expression or function. Understanding the molecular mechanisms governing COL11A2's activity may offer insights into developing effective treatments and improving patient outcomes in connective tissue disorders.
