Stability Test
The thermal stability is described by the loss rate. The loss rate was determined by accelerated thermal degradation test, that is, incubate the protein at 37℃ for 48h, and no obvious degradation and precipitation were observed. The loss rate isless than 8% within the expiration date under appropriate storage condition.
-
Storage & Shelf Life
Samples are stable for up to twelve months from date of receipt at -20℃ to -80℃. Store it under sterile conditions at -20℃ to -80℃. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted for optimal storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
-
Shipping
In general, recombinant proteins are supplied as lyophilized powder and shipped at ambient temperature. For bulk packages, the proteins are provided as frozen liquid and shipped with blue ice, unless otherwise requested by the customer.

Protein Description
ABCD2, a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter family, plays a crucial role in cellular lipid metabolism and the transport of various substrates across cellular membranes. Research on ABCD2 has gained momentum due to its involvement in peroxisomal lipid transport, particularly with fatty acids and other lipids essential for maintaining cellular homeostasis. Mutations and dysfunctions in ABCD2 have been linked to several metabolic disorders, including adrenoleukodystrophy (ALD), which underscores the importance of studying this protein to understand its mechanisms and potential therapeutic targets. The recombinant expression of ABCD2 allows for the detailed investigation of its structural and functional properties, providing insights into its substrate specificity, regulatory mechanisms, and interactions with other proteins. Advances in molecular biology techniques have facilitated the production of recombinant ABCD2, enabling researchers to dissect its role in peroxisomal biogenesis and lipid-associated metabolic pathways. Understanding the nuances of ABCD2 functionality not only contributes to the fundamental knowledge of ABC transporters but also holds promise for developing targeted therapies for related metabolic disorders, making it a significant focus in the field of molecular biology and biochemistry.
